DescriptionThe complexity, requirements and tight development cycles of modern embedded systems force designers to evaluate numerous different design options during early stages of the development. Large design spaces ask for methodologies to explore trade-offs efficiently. Current solutions are mostly tied to specific applications or lack a path to efficient implementation. This paper deploys the Portable Test and Stimulus Standard (PSS) aiming at reuse in later stages of the design cycle and explores its use for early exploration. An application described as Kahn-Process-Network (KPN) is mapped on processing and communication resources leading to pareto optimal points for further analysis.
