Biography
Murray Cole is Professor of Patterned Parallel Computing at the University of Edinburgh. His research interests are in parallel programming models, emphasizing approaches which exploit skeletons to package and optimize well known patterns of computation and interaction as parallel programming abstractions. His 1988 PhD thesis (Edinburgh) founded this field. He is co-Director of the Centre for Doctoral Training in Pervasive Parallelism.
