Federica Caruso is a Ph.D student in the area of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) at the Department of Information Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics (DISIM), University of L’Aquila (XXXIV cycle). She received her Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering at University of L’Aquila with a grade of 110/110 and honor. Her master thesis work is focused on the application of virtual reality and serious game concepts in a particular application context: the autism spectrum disorders. From July 2018 to October 2018 she has done an internship at Armundia Group SRL, working on UX and UI. After Master’s Degree she was a researcher at Centre of Excellence DEWS (Design Methodologies for Embedded controllers, Wireless interconnect and System-on-chip) working on Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) and Advanced Learning Systems (ALS) in the context of CrazySquare Project. She has working also with Immersive Virtual Reality Technologies and Serious Games Methodologies in collaboration with the TETALAB, a multidisciplinary laboratory inside the University of L’Aquila, born from the collaboration between DISIM, DISCAB and the regional reference centre of autism.
