Karthik Somayaji Suryanarayana
I am Karthik Somayaji NS, a second year Masters student and a graduate student researcher at UC Santa Barbara (UCSB). I obtained my B.Tech degree from PES University, India in Electronics and Communication Engineering in 2018, with an emphasis in VLSI Design. I am extremely interested in applying machine learning to solve real world problems. My other skills include signal and image processing. I love working on research initiatives that are interdisciplinary in nature and have been involved in projects like bio-inspired foraging in robot applications. At UCSB, I have primarily worked on applying reinforcement learning for single and multi-objective optimization problems. My current research interests include applied and theoretical machine learning. Beginning Fall 2021, I will be starting my PhD at Prof. Peng Li’s lab at UCSB.
