Biography
Weimin Zheng is a professor and a doctoral supervisor of the Department of Computer Science and Technology in Tsinghua University. And he is the Editor in Chief of the journal of Big Data. He was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2019. He was appointed as the President of China Computer Federation. He has won one first-class prize and two second-class prizes of the State Science and Technology Progress Award, and one second-class prize of the State Technological Invention Award. He has long been engaged in the research of High-Performance Computer architecture, parallel algorithms and systems. In the field of High-Performance Computer architecture, he was the lead in developing and successfully applying cluster architecture of high-performance computers in China. In terms of large-scale parallel algorithms and applications, the extremely large-scale weather forecast application developed on the Sunway TaihuLight won the ACM Gordon Bell Award. He has extensive experience in high-performance computer evaluation and was the director of the 863 High-performance Computer Evaluation Center. He has been committing himself to the scientific research, engineering construction and talent cultivation of network storage systems for a long time. He has made contributions in scientific problems and engineering technologies such as the scalability, reliability and cost-efficiency of storage systems. His network storage system, disaster-tolerant system, and self-maintenance system have played an important role in multiple grand projects.
