SUMMARY:CANCELLED: SonicFFT: A system architecture for ultrasonic-based FF
 T acceleration
DESCRIPTION:Networking Reception, Work-in-Progress Poster\n\nCANCELLED: So
nicFFT: A system architecture for ultrasonic-based FFT acceleration\n\nSab
ry Aly\n\nFast Fourier Transform (FFT) is an essential algorithm for numer
ous scientific and engineering applications. It is key to implement FFT in
a high-performance and energy-efficient manner. In this work, we leverage
the properties of ultrasonic wave propagation in silicon for FFT computat
ion. We introduce a compact-model based simulation framework that quantifi
es the performance and energy of an integrated system comprising of digita
l computing components interfaced with an ultrasonic FFT accelerator. We a
lso present mapping strategies to compute 2D FFT utilizing the accelerator
. Simulation results indicate our introduced system achieves significant b
enefits in both energy and performance versus baseline all-digital configu
 rations.\n\nVirtual Program: Presented In-Person
